Welcome to the family to my son Teddy!
Kind greetings and salutations from Monster and girl, we’re here today to celebrate a significant milestone in my life, a very special event. Now, I’d be the first to admit that this is a bit of an unusual topic/event, but I’m an unusual Monster, ya know?
I’m not real big on marking milestones here that are unrelated to hiking or the outdoors, but that may be changing. I am here to announce that I’m 60 years old and I just became a father.
Yes, you read that right, I’m now a dad. I’m the father of a 30 year old man / monster!

A quick note – my son’s moving home!
I actually adopted Teddy over a month ago. Back at the beginning of December. I actually started writing this before he arrived home for the adoption and the holidays.
Then life happened. Teddy got bit by a stray dog. He was bit his first day back, before he even got unpacked. Teddy’s birthday came and went, so did the Holidays.
There is a happy ending to it all too. My son Teddy’s moving back home from far far away! Like Alaska kind of far away. I hope moving home is as happy an experience for my son as it will be for his Mom and me.
With so many things in this world so uncertain right now, I can guarantee (also known as guaran-damn-tee – I heard an Illinois Governor say that, guaran-damn-tee jeesh) that we can face it better together. That’s what family is for!
I have family now, I have a son, let’s celebrate!!!
