Tenderness Toward Existence Day – 1/19/24
Today I've picked a couple of different observances to discuss, this morning it was National Popcorn Day, and now this afternoon we're discussing Tenderness Toward Existence Day. When I started to read about this holiday I was immediately struck by an Otis Redding earworm, I could not get Try a Little Tenderness out of my head.
Celebrate National Popcorn Day 1/19/25
Popcorn is my go to snack, afternoon or evening, hot or cold, rain or shine. It's probably the healthiest snack I eat too. It's not too high calorie and it's a decent source of dietary fiber. Celebrate National Popcorn Day!
National Forrest Day is 1/18/24
Today, January 18th, 2024 is National Forrest Day, but don't tell Monster, ok? Because he is only going to get confused, he thinks it's National Forest day, not National Forrest day.

Dr Martin Luther King Jr was a great man. The Civil Rights movement in the United States was needed and necessary, and Rev. King was in the absolute forefront of that battle. Then, he was taken from us far too soon.

National Shop for Travel Day, celebrated on the second Tuesday in January, isn't exactly what it sounds like, yet at the same time it is exactly what it sounds like. I'm told it was the brainchild of the Travel Technology Association, and it was created to celebrate all the apps and tools which enable travelers to book marvelous vacations.
